Odisi Games and NGD Studios have announced that they will launching their free-flying competitive FPS, Drone Strike Force, on Steam for PC on 16th August. For those wanting to give the game a try, there’s a special weekend open beta underway which ends tomorrow. Watch the gameplay trailer below to see some drone wrecking havoc.
In Drone Strike Force, the world of the mid 21st century is blighted by global warming and the remaining cities ravaged by this climate cataclysm are being fought over by citizen soldiers and corporations.
Working in teams, players will command next-generation military UAV drones via a state-of-the-art Drone Brain Meld Interface (DBMi) to capture critical control nodes. Players will be able to choose from a number of different drones, weapons, perks and abilities to suit their own playstyle. Each battle will reward players with experience that can be used to upgrade their drone with added functionality or add new drones to the garage.
The game will feature three game modes – Deathmatch, Domination and King of the Hill, and all of these will be available to try out during the open beta.
Drone Strike Force will arrive on Steam on 16th August. To take part in the open beta visit the Steam page.
