Jared Leto in talks to play a serial killer in The Little Things

August 2, 2019 by Ricky Church

Variety reports Jared Leto (Blade Runner 2049) has begun talks with Warner Bros. to join John Lee Hancock’s (The Highwaymen) upcoming crime thriller The Little Things.

The Little Things follows “a burned-out Kern County, Calif. deputy sheriff named Deke (Washington) who teams with Baxter, a crack LASD detective (Malek), to reel in a wily serial killer. Deke’s nose for the ‘little things’ proves eerily accurate, but his willingness to circumvent the rules embroils Baxter in a soul-shattering dilemma. Meanwhile, Deke must wrestle with a dark secret from his past.”

If the deal goes through, Leto will play the serial killer Washington and Malek are attempting to catch.

Leto recently completed production on Sony’s Morbius, a film spun out of Sony’s rights to Spider-Man about Morbius, the Living Vampire. Much like Venom, Morbius will be unconnected with the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man films.

Hancock has written The Little Things script himself with production aiming to start in September.
