Lord and Miller deny involvement in The Princess Bride remake

September 20, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Phil Lord and Chris Miller have debunked the rumour that they are involved in a remake of The Princess Bride.

We have recently learned that certain people in Hollywood are interested in remaking the cult classic The Princess Bride. The news hasn’t gone down particularly well – even the film’s original star Cary Elwes has said it was a bad idea.

Since the news came out, there has been talk that Phil Lord and Chris Miller (21 Jump Street and The Lego Movie) might be involved in the remake but now they have come out and debunked this – not wanting their names associated with the project even for a moment.

Taking to social media, Chris Miller said: “For the record, not us. Love the movie— it still holds up as the greatest meta story put to film. Also, the way you know it’s not us is the use of the phrase ‘very famous’.”

For the record, not us.
Love the movie— it still holds up as the greatest meta story put to film.
Also, the way you know it’s not us is the use of the phrase “very famous” https://t.co/LeGzVp6FRO

This will be an interesting story to keep an eye on and it’s going to take quite a lot to convince fans of the original movie that a remake is necessary. Where do you stand on the issue? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below or on our social channels @flickeringmyth…
