Brandon Routh says goodbye to the Arrowverse after final day on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow

October 27, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Having joined the Arrowverse as a guest star in the third season of Arrow back in 2014 before taking on a leading role in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Brandon Routh has officially said goodbye to the role of Ray Palmer, with the actor sharing a heartfelt message on Instagram following his final day of shooting on Legends.

“My final day of filming with my #LegendsFamily,” states Routh writes. “I love you all and appreciate the 5 seasons we’ve spent together. It hasn’t always been easy, but I think that’s what makes it harder to leave — getting through the growing pains of the first few seasons has bonded us. And made the last three seasons a blast! I’’ve never been at a job this long, so this is new for me. I think I will miss you all and the fun we’ve had making this silly show on the Waverider —as much as I’ll miss bringing Ray Palmer to life.”

Routh’s exit from Legends was announced back in August, along with his real-life wife and co-star Courtney Ford, who plays Nora Darhk in the show. Before he goes however, Routh is set to make a special guest appearance in the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover as Superman, a role he previously portrayed in 2006’s Superman Returns.
