Gina Carano praises The Mandalorian director Deborah Chow

December 20, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Gina Carano, one of the stars of The Mandalorian, has singled out director Deborah Chow for praise.

The Mandalorian has certainly been a big win for Disney+ with fans tuning in each week for more classic Star Wars action and for their regular dose of Baby Yoda. Deborah Chow has directed a couple of episodes of season one and will also be directing all episodes for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

Gina Carano, who plays Cara Dune on the show, thinks Chow is a brilliant choice for the Kenobi series, taking to Instagram to sing her praises: “#DeborahChow is a complete badass. Director of the 3rd & 7th episodes of @themandalorian it doesn’t surprise me at all that they are going to have her direct all episodes for the #obiwan series for Disney. Her calm determination centered all the cast and crew around her internal drive and mischievous twinkle in her eyes… I am so proud to have been apart of her team.. cause whatever she is battling, she, in herself, is the right team to be on. I adore you to the moon and beyond Deb. Thank you for the leadership and guidance and more importantly.. inspiration. Keep kicking ass and taking names my friend.. all my support, always.”

The Obi-Wan series is certainly highly anticipated by die-hard Star Wars fans, with many clamoring for Ewan McGregor’s return to the role for years. Hopefully, Chow and her team can pull off something special.

The Mandalorian sees Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones) leading a cast that includes Gina Carano (Deadpool), Carl Weathers (Rocky), Nick Nolte (Afflication), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Omid Abtahi (American Gods), Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), Ming-Na Wen (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Natalie Tena (Game of Thrones), Bill Burr (F Is for Family), Mark Boone Junior (Batman Begins), Julia Jones (Westworld) and Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man).
