Bad Boys For Life tops box office with $100 million worldwide

January 19, 2020 by Amie Cranswick

It’s been a successful reunion for Will Smith’s Mike Lowrey and Martin Lawrence’s Marcus Burnett, with Sony’s buddy cop action comedy threequel Bad Boys For Life grossing almost $100 million around the globe in its opening weekend.

Domestically, Bad Boys For Life grossed $59 million over the three-day weekend, and is on course for an estimated $68.1 million over the four-day Martin Luther King weekend. Regardless, it’s already topped Ride Along’s $48.6 million four-day total for the second-biggest MLK opening ever behind American Sniper ($107.2 million).

The $90 million-budgeted film also earned $38.6 million internationally this weekend, including Germany ($5.1 million), United Kingdom ($5 million), Australia ($3.9 million) and Mexico ($3.8 million). With this kind of performance, expect Sony to be very keen to put the just-announced Bad Boys 4 onto the fast track…

The Bad Boys Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) are back together for one last ride in the highly anticipated Bad Boys for Life.

Bad Boys for Life sees Will Smith and Martin Lawrence joined by returning cast members Joe Pantoliano (Captain Howard) and Theresa Randle (Theresa Burnett), alongside franchise newcomers Vanessa Hudgens (The Princess Switch), Alexander Ludwig (Vikings), Charles Melton (Riverdale), Jacob Scipio (Hunter Killer), Paola Nunez (The Son) and DJ Khaled (Spies in Disguise).
