Archaeology skill arriving in RuneScape this March

February 26, 2020 by Andrew Newton

A brand-new skill is coming to RuneScape on 30th March that will have the potential to be one of the most powerful skills in the game.  Archaeology is RuneScape‘s 28th skill, has a 120 level cap, and will begin a major expansion that sees the addition of five massive new locations to explore.

With the Archaeology skill players will be available to both RuneScape members and free players as soon as it launches and will have the opportunity to excavate and restore artefacts using their gathering abilities.  Players will be able to discover a number of different ancient relics that will unlock powerful perks, including adrenaline boosts, infinite run energy and more.  As well as relics and artefacts, players will be able to discover ancient training methods for other skills.

Players will be able to bind demonic slayers using Ancient Summoning and also use Ancient Invention which uncovers forgotten ancient technology and allows brand new devices and perks to be created from disassembled artefacts.

“Archaeology is so much more than a skill – every dig site will tell a story, which will bring multiple new areas and significant new ways to play RuneScape when it drops in-game on March 30th. As players empower relics, uncover artefacts and improve their Archaeology abilities, secrets of a future story arc will unfold. We can’t wait to begin revealing more of the mystery surrounding Archaeology over the months to come.” Dave Osborne, Lead Designer, RuneScape.

Look out for this brand-new skill coming to RuneScape on 30th March.
