Tessa Thompson says Westworld season 3 feels like the show is starting over

March 11, 2020 by Samuel Brace

Tessa Thompson, one of the stars of Westworld, says season three feels like a new beginning for the HBO series.

HBO’s expensive sci-fi series Westworld certainly knows how to keep fans waiting, taking a year off in between seasons – due to the epic nature of its production.

Season three is going to be quite the shakeup for the show, with new characters arriving and a setting outside of the infamous park. Tessa Thompson even says that season three feels like the show is actually starting over due to all the changes.

Speaking to Variety, the actress said: “In a weird way, it feels like this is the premiere of the show again because we have entered the real world and the show continues to ask the question what it means to be human, but it’s asking a host – pun intended – of new questions. We have lots of people that have come to join our cast, fresh blood, so it feels like the show is starting all over again. It’s a show that surprises not just the audience, but surprised the people that are lucky enough to work on it.”

Whether Westworld can retain what fans loved about its first two seasons now that it has left the park behind will remain to be seen. Hopefully, there is another exciting and mystifying season instore.

Westworld season 3 premieres on March 15th.
