Tom Hanks returns to World War II in first trailer for Greyhound

March 5, 2020 by Amie Cranswick

Sony Pictures has released the first poster and trailer for director Aaron Schneider’s upcoming World War II drama Greyhound. Based on C. S. Forester’s novel The Good Shepherd and scripted by Tom Hanks, the film sees the Saving Private Ryan star returning to World War II in the role of Ernest Krause, a US Navy captain leading convoy of Allied ships as they face the deadly threat of German U-boats.

In the early days of WWII, an international convoy of 37 Allied ships, led by captain Ernest Krause (Tom Hanks) in his first command of a U.S. destroyer, crosses the treacherous North Atlantic while hotly pursued by wolf packs of Nazi U-boats.

Greyhound is set for release on June 12th, and features a cast that also includes Stephan Graham, Rob Morgan, and Elizabeth Shue.
