Halloween Kills producer reveals why a trailer hasn’t been released yet

June 24, 2020 by Samuel Brace

Jason Blum, the producer of Halloween Kills, has revealed why a trailer hasn’t been released yet for the film.

Halloween Kills, the next film in the beloved horror franchise, is set for release this October. But with its release date so near, why has there not been a trailer for the movie yet?

The film is being producer by Jason Blum and when he spoke to Fandom, he revealed the reasoning for a lack of a trailer at this point:

“The reason [a trailer] hasn’t come out yet is because we don’t know what the world is going to look like in October. Right now we’re still planning on releasing the movie in October but if there’s no way to release it [theatrically], then we’re not sure. So we’re not going to release the trailer until we really are very sure when people are going to get to see the movie. So that’s the holdup. But we have a great trailer and a great movie and I can’t wait for everybody to see it.”

This explanation makes some sense. Fans might get frustrated if they start hyping the film with trailers and the release date then keeps getting pushed back. Perhaps it’s better to wait until there is more certainty.

Hopefully, they don’t end up under-marketing the film, however, if the 16th October release date stands.

The cast for Halloween Kills includes Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, and Robert Longstreet. Anthony Michael Hall will also star in the new film as Tommy Doyle, a character from the original 1978 film. Returning from that film are Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace, Nancy Stephens as Nurse Marion Chambers, and Charles Cyphers as Sheriff Leigh Brackett.
