5 Brutal Superhero Beatdowns

July 19, 2020 by Red Stewart

Red Stewart presents five brutal superhero beatdowns…

Long before comic books became mainstream, Joseph Campbell taught us about the archetypes of the superhero and supervillain, one of those being the triumph of good over evil. Prior to that happening, though, the hero has to undergo a crisis of faith wherein they hit rock-bottom and have to rebuild themselves.

Well, superhero movies have taken that concept and made it quite visceral. It’s not just about losing confidence in one’s abilities a la Spider-Man 2, but actually being beaten to a pulp by the bad guy.

As such, we at Flickering Myth have compiled a list of five of the worst thrashings witnessed in these kinds of films. Check them out in the video…

Have we missed any brutal superhero beatdowns from our list? Be sure to let us know, and if you enjoyed the video why not help us out by subscribing to our YouTube channel for more exclusive content.
