Adrenaline is a bigger drug than caffeine – humans crave it in their everyday activities, whether it’s speeding down the highway, riding a roller coaster at a theme park, or scaring themselves through a horror medium.

Video games have, of course, indulged in that latter category, but not just the horror ones. In the many decades since Polybius was released (*wink wink), many other games have genre-bended, scaring the jeepers out of us at unexpected times. Therefore, we have compiled a list of just 5 of these moments seen in video games.
