Planet Coaster: Console Edition gets new developer diary video

July 29, 2020 by Andrew Newton

Frontier Developments has released the first in a brand new series of developer diary videos for Planet Coaster: Console Edition that looks into how the acclaimed theme park management game is being developed for consoles.  Planet Coaster: Console Edition will be released on Xbox One, Playstation 4 as well as next gen’ consoles at the end of the year.

This first video features snippets of in-game console gameplay as well as a detailed insight from developers into how the game is being created to take advantage of the controller and ensure it provides the same level of ease and enjoyment that is experienced by PC players.

Planet Coaster: Console Edition will give players the opportunity to construct and run their very own theme park.  The game will allow  players imaginations to run wild with their designs of roller coasters and more and construct these piece by piece. The Console Edition will bring all the depth, customisation and freedom that can be found in the PC game.

Ensure the excitement of park-goers by constructing jaw dropping, white knuckle rides, such as rollercoasters, that challenge the laws of physics as well as the ability of ride-goers and thrill seekers to keep the contents of their stomach in place.

A theme park isn’t just rides that bring in the money, build gift shops, snack bars, restaurants and drinks stands and watch the money fill up the park’s coffers.  If that wasn’t enough for the management boffs among you, the park will require a team of dedicated and trained staff and players will be able to decide who to hire to ensure the park delivers the ultimate thrill experience for visitors.

Look out for more developer diaries coming soon.
