The Sopranos and Goodfellas writers teaming for new mob drama series

August 1, 2020 by Gary Collinson

THR is reporting that The Sopranos writer and executive produce and Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter is teaming with Goodfellas and Casino screenwriter Nicholas Pileggi for a new mob drama series for Showtime.

As per the trade, Winter will write the as-yet-untitled series, “which is based on Pileggi’s in-depth chronology of organized crime in America, which is also the history of corruption in the United States, as seen through the eyes of the Mafia’s first family.”

Winter and Pileggi will executive produce the series alongside Brian Grazer and Samie Kim Falvey of Imagine Television.

Given the track record of the talent involved, this certainly looks like it should be one to watch out for.
