Zack Snyder says The Batman is the “kind of movie I want to see”

Zack Snyder has come out praising The Batman after seeing the trailer, saying that it is the “kind of movie I want to see”.

The hype for Matt Reeves’ The Batman has certainly risen since the trailer landed earlier this week. Fans were treated to some exciting footage, showcasing the dark world being created for Robert Pattinson’s Batman to inhabit.

One person who was particularly excited by the footage was Zack Snyder, who knows a thing or two about Batman after directing Ben Affleck twice in the role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. Speaking on the Reel in Motion podcast (via Cinema Blend), Snyder remarked how dark the film came across:

“I dunno what the rating is going to be but I felt the same way (watching Batman beat the goon). I was like what the…I actually just texted Matt (Reeves) after and I was like, ‘What the fuck! This is cool! I loved it. I thought it was so cool. I thought it was like the right direction and everything about it. As far as just a fan of a movie, it’s the kind of movie I want to see, so I felt like (two thumbs up). Yes, please.”

A lot of people will be nodding in agreement with Snyder. The Batman certainly has a lot of potential. Hopefully, the trailer is a good reflection of the film itself when it eventually makes its way to cinemas.

The Batman sees Robert Pattinson (The Lighthouse) donning the cape and cowl as Bruce Wayne/Batman alongside Zoe Kravitz (Big Little Lies) as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Colin Farrell (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Paul Dano (Escape at Dannemora) as The Riddler, Jeffrey Wright (Westworld) as Jim Gordon, Andy Serkis (War for the Planet of the Apes) as Alfred Pennyworth, John Turturro (The Big Lebowski) as Carmine Falcone, Alex Ferns (Chernobyl) as Commissioner Pete Savage, Con O’Neill (Ordinary Lies) as Chief Mackenzie Bock, Peter Sarsgaard (The Killing) as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson, Barry Keoghan (Dunkirk) as Officer Stanley Merkel and Jayme Lawson (Farewell Amor) as Bella Real.
