John Noble joins The Boys as The Butcher’s father

October 1, 2020 by Ricky Church

Tomorrow’s episode of The Boys will feature a Lord of the Rings reunion as John Noble will guest star in the series, portraying the father of Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher.

Urban revealed the news on his Instagram, saying “WTF! #lordoftherings @theboystv Mashup. John Noble …aka Denethor is Butchers dad ep7. Loved working with John. His Sam Butcher is a brutal force of nature!”

Noble and Urban starred together in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy. Noble played Denethor, the steward of Gondor and father to Sean Bean and David Wenham’s Boromir and Faramir who coveted the Ring’s power while Urban was Éomer, a rider of Rohan and the king’s nephew.
