Pacer out now on PS4 and PC

October 29, 2020 by Andrew Newton

R8 Games has announced the release of their high-octane anti-gravity combat racer Pacer on Playstation 4 and PC via Steam.  Featuring a variety of single player modes, online play for up to 10 players and some bangin’ tunes by CoLD SToRAGE (AKA Tim Wright).  A new launch trailer can be seen below…

The year is 2075 and the Pacer World Championship is the racing event that everyone watches delivering viewers with some of the most intense, dangerous and challenging races it is possible to see.  Corporations across the globe  race against each other in a battle of technical and piloting prowess in the hopes of becoming the world champions and raking in mega money.

Players can choose from four speed classes with speeds from 400 km/h to over 1000 km/h and take part in a variety of different game modes, including Elimination, Endurance and Pacer’s unique ‘Flowmentum’ and ‘Storm’ modes.

There’s 14 unique and challenging tracks to race across with interchangeable variants such as Night, Mirrored and Reverse which provides a total of 8 different ways to race each track.  Take on the flowing red canyons of Fiyah, the lights of Mannahatta or the vibrant city of Sonashahar and enjoy the beautiful scenery if you dare take your eye off the track.

Take the controls of 5 different vehicles, each with their own characteristics, and customise their appearance as well as tune the various systems in the Garage.  There’s also a selection of deadly weaponry to choose from before hitting the starting line.

“We’re thrilled to be here today to launch the fastest and most explosive game of its kind. I’m so proud of what the team has achieved, and we’ll be enjoying a social distanced launch drink to mark the occasion,” said Steve Iles, Senior Producer. “But this is just the beginning, we have a lot of plans for the competitive gaming side of Pacer so watch this space.”

Pacer is available now on PS4 and Steam and will arrive soon on Xbox One.
