After penning a huge deal with Netflix, Shonda Rhimes is finally making her debut for the streamer. Today, the first trailer for Bridgerton, a period piece drama, has hit the internet.
The show will follow Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), the eldest daughter of the powerful Bridgerton family as she makes her debut onto Regency London’s competitive marriage market.
Rege-Jean Page, previously seen on ABC’s Shondaland legal drama For the People‚ plays Simon Bassett, the Duke who finds himself the target of the town’s single ladies. And the legendary Julie Andrews will voice the role of Lady Whistledown, the unseen gossip writer who narrates the show.
