The Mandalorian will explain how Moff Gideon got the Darksaber says Katee Sackhoff

Katee Sackhoff, who plays Bo-Katan in The Mandalorian, says the show will explain how Moff Gideon got the Darksaber, a weapon which used to be hers.

As soon as Moff Gideon cut through his TIE fighter with the Darksaber at the end of The Mandalorian season one, fans were desperate to know how he came to possess this ancient and important Mandalorian weapon.

Last time we saw it in Star Wars Rebels, Katee Sackhoff’s Bo-Katan was in possession of it so how did Gideon take it from her? Usually, the owner of the Darksaber kills the last person to wield it.

Well, according to Sackhoff, all of this will be explained on the show. Speaking to ET, she said: “I was screaming at the TV when I saw that. I was like. ‘He doesn’t even look good holding it.

“There are a lot of theories and there is a story there and we will find out but I would hate to ruin it for everyone. You’ll just have to wait and see. As a fan of the show, I hate spoilers. That has been the thing that has kept me really good on social media, to be honest. I didn’t want to ruin in for anyone. There is teasing something and then there is ruining it for people. I really wanted to make sure that I kept it exciting for them and I wanted them to live that moment for the first time when they see her and have it be everything that they wanted it to be for 15 years.”

It’s great to know that we will get some answers on this front. Hopefully, we get to see more of Bo-Katan this season, perhaps in a confrontation with her enemy Moff Gideon.

The Mandalorian season two sees Pedro Pascal (Din Djarin), Gina Carano (Cara Dune), Carl Weathers (Greef Karga), Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon) and Bill Burr (Mayfield) joined by new cast additions Temuera Morrison (Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones), Katee Sackhoff (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Timothy Olyphant (Justified), Michael Biehn (The Terminator) and WWE Superstar Sasha Banks.

The Mandalorian season two airs on Fridays on Disney+.
