Netflix acquires sci-fi thriller Stowaway starring Anna Kendrick and Toni Collette

December 4, 2020 by Amie Cranswick

Deadline is reporting that Netflix has acquired the distribution rights to Stowaway, a sci-fi thriller from director Joe Penna (Arctic) which stars Anna Kendrick (Noelle), Toni Collette (Hereditary), Daniel Dae Kim (Hellboy) and Shamier Anderson (Wynonna Earp).

Scripted by Penna and his Arctic co-writer Ryan Morrison, Stowaway “charts how, on a mission to Mars, an unintended stowaway (Anderson) accidentally causes severe damage to the spaceship’s life-support systems. Facing dwindling resources and a potentially grim outcome, a medical researcher (Kendrick) emerges as the only dissenting voice against the clinical logic of both her commander (Collette) and the ship’s biologist (Kim).”

Stowaway is expected to premiere on Netflix at some point in 2021.
