Drifting Joycons, Anti-Consumerism, and Shifty Storefronts: The Untold Problems of the Nintendo Switch

January 23, 2021 by Red Stewart

MRIXRT on Nintendo Switch problems…

Everyone loves Nintendo- we all have memories of growing up with one of their consoles, from the NES to the Wii, popping in a multiplayer title, and spending hours gaming with friends from across the neighborhood. Nintendo established itself as a family friendly company and we bought into it for a reason- they made us feel like we were a part of their own base.

Yet, the older you get, the more you start to realize that Nintendo’s business practices have never been the most moral. More importantly, the more you start to invest your own money into their hardware and services, the more you realize that there are serious flaws with their systems and business model that, at times, appear to be anti-consumer.

The Nintendo Switch is a revolutionary system, but it isn’t without its issues. From the changing digital storefront to joycons that can’t seem to stay still, MRIXRT is taking a look at some major issues present in the Switch and Nintendo as a whole.
