Marvel’s Avengers Xbox Series X/S and PS5 release date announced, Operation: Hawkeye – Future Imperfect trailer released

February 18, 2021 by Andrew Newton

Square Enix has announced that they will be releasing Marvel’s Avengers on the Xbox Series X/S and Playstation 5 on 18th March.  Players who own the game on the Xbox One and PS4 will be able to upgrade to the next-gen version for no extra cost.  The next-gen version will release alongside the new playable hero of the team, Hawkeye aka Clint Barton.  There’s some tasty new trailers below showing the story for the PS5 and Series X/S edition and more about Hawkeye.

Marvel’s Avengers on the Xbox Series X/S and Playstation 5 will provide gamers with higher framerates and enhanced visuals compared to the Xbox One and PS4 and players on the X and PS5 will be able to enjoy the action in glorious 4K (though Xbox Series S owners will have to settle for 1440p).  This edition also makes fantastic use of the built-in SSD so loading times and streaming times are much quicker.  All in all, players will be able to enjoy higher-resolution textures, better draw distances, improved heroics and armour destruction and many other enhancements.

Those players who transfer their saves to and profiles to the new console’s version will be able to continue their game from the exact spot they left it from and they will still be able to continue gaming with their friends on PS4 and Xbox One.

Hawkeye joins the game with Operation: Hawkeye – Future Imperfect.  This free new addition to the game continues the Future Imperfect story from Kate Bishop’s Operation and will see players learn more about Hawkeye’s mission to find Nick Fury.  What he finds instead of the leader of SHIELD is a right cock up on the old time travel front and finds himself in a future dominated by Maestro, an older and corrupted version of the Hulk.

Marvel’s Avengers on the Xbox Series X/S and Playstation 5 will be available in March.
