Horror icon Devon Sawa joins Chucky TV series

March 5, 2021 by EJ Moreno

Not only is the upcoming Chucky series looking to course-correct after the recent reboot, but it’s also looking to make a splash of its own. Collider reports that Devon Sawa, the actor from hit horror-related films like Casper, Idle Hands, Final Destination, and the recent Hunter Hunter, will join the USA/Syfy series’ growing cast.

Jeff Sneider notes in his report that Sawa has landed a “major role” on Chucky and will actually play a set of twins on the show. Could he be twins that Chucky’s lover Tiffany had in Seed of Chucky, or is Sawa part of this series’ fresh start? We know that Jennifer Tilly also on board to play Tiffany, joining the legend Brad Dourif, who is returning as the voice of Chucky.

Sawa isn’t the only franchise newcomer joining the series either, as Zackary Arthur, Teo Briones, Bjorgvin Arnarson, and Alyvia Alyn Lind are all set to play the four young leads in Chucky.

As per Collider, Chucky, set to premiere later this year, will begin when “a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale and an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies — and allies — from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster. ”
