John David Washington joins Gareth Edwards sci-fi True Love

May 6, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

It has been almost five years since Gareth Edwards delivered the billion dollar grossing Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, so his next project was always going to be an intriguing one, and it has just become even more interesting with the news that John David Washington has climbed on board the director’s science-fiction film True Love.

Deadline reports that the Malcom & Marie and Tenet actor will join the Godzilla director on the film, which is being described as a near future sci-fi story.

Not much else is known about True Love beyond the fact that it’s being produced and financed by New Regency, and that Edwards has written the script himself.

Next up for John David Washington is David O Russell’s untitled film, which features a star-studded cast including Anya Taylor-Joy, Margot Robbie, Zoe Saldana, Robert De Niro, Rami Malek, Mike Myers, Michael Shannon, Chris Rock, and is also housed at New Regency.
