Maid of Sker arrives on Xbox Series X/S and PS5 next week alongside a spine-tingling free update

Wales Interactive has announced that their unnerving survival horror game, Maid of Sker, will be available on Xbox Series X/S and Playstation 5 on 26th May.  Alongside this, the developers will also release a free update featuring a wealth of new content, including first person challenge modes.  See the new mode in the trailer below…

The new first-person Challenge Modes showcase a brand-new set of game mechanics and a range of enemies from the Sker Hotel.  There’s six enemies in these challenges, both new and familiar enemies, but they will all be buffed with their own unique powerful abilities.  There are 4 challenges coming, The Long Night, Axe of Kindness, Nightmare at the Hotel and In Darkness, and each will provide an array of different weaponry, including a felling axe, .357 Magnum, sawn-off double-barrelled shotgun and a bolt-action infantry rifle.  Players will also have the opportunity to earn 10 new Achievements/ Trophies.

The update will also bring a wealth of technical enhancements for the new consoles,  these include:

PlayStation 5

  • FPS Challenge Modes
  • 4K 30 FPS & 1440p 60 FPS modes (Fidelity/Performance)
  • DualSense haptic feedback. Better footsteps, gunshots, bumping into things, healing etc.
  • DualSense Adaptive Triggers. Used on different guns, including phonic modulators.
  • Has different strengths, how hard it is, when it releases etc.
  • Improved texture resolution
  • Quicker loading times. 1s on PS5, was 10-15 seconds on PS4 and 3-4s on PS5 with backward compatibility

Xbox Series X|S

  • FPS Challenge Modes
  • XSX – 4K 30 FPS & 1440p 60 FPS modes (Fidelity/Performance)
    XSS – 1080p 30fps
  • Improved texture resolution
  • Quicker loading times

The Xbox Series X/S and PS5 versions and the free update will arrive on 26th May.
