Super Bomberman R Online coming to Playstation, Nintendo Switch and PC next week

May 21, 2021 by Andrew Newton

Konami has announced they will be releasing Super Bomberman R Online on Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4 (PS5 backwards compatible) and PC via Steam on 27th May as a free-to-play digital download.  Xbox gamers will be able to play this at a later date.

Super Bomberman R Online sees the return of the 8 Bomber Brothers and others in a 64-player, online battle royale with all the gameplay that has made the franchise a classic.  Players will be able to blast their way through walls, find hidden power ups and blow away their opponents across 16 starting battlefields.  As players are blown up and levels cleared, the number of battlefields will reduce until one final battle determines who is the last one standing.

Players will have access to more than 100 customisable feature combinations, including costumes, accessories and bomb skins, which will affect the bomb and its blast.  An optional Premium Pack will also give access to 14 more characters from Konami’s proud gaming heritage, including Gradius, Silent Hill and Castlevania.  This Premium Pack will also  allows players to create their own private Room Match with rulesets that include Battle 64 mode, Standard mode for up to 16 players or Grand Prix, a 6 player mode that has players split into 3v3 teams.

There will also be a two tier Battle Pass system with a Silver Pass being free for all players featuring 100 ranks and free content, and a Gold Pass which will be available for 800 Bomber Coins and provide access to even more content.

Finally, Konami are celebrating selling over two million copies of Super Bomberman R  so will be rewarding all players of Super Bomberman R Online with the commemorative Double Platinum Cake outfit.

Look out for Super Bomberman R Online arriving on Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Steam on the 27th May.
