Survival horror Song of Horror has a haunting release on Playstation

May 28, 2021 by Andrew Newton

Raiser Games and Protocol Games have today released their popular PC survival-horror title, Song of Horror, on Playstation consoles.  This new console release combines all five chapters from the Steam version into one single edition giving players the chance to experience a whole paranormal story that is set to scare.  A eerie new launch trailer can be seen below and sets the scene…

Song of Horror is a Lovecraftian inspired, third-person survival-horror that tasks players with investigating the disappearance of the writer Sebastian P. Husher and his entire family. Players will be able to take control of 13 characters, all of which have different skills, to determine the fate of this elusive writer and his family. However, beware of the dark malevolent evil known as The Presence that will seek out the investigators who will have to focus on running, hiding and staying silent if they want to survive.

Featuring:

  • An advanced AI that reacts to the player’s actions and decisions, responds to your way of playing and hunts you down in unexpected ways
  • 13 different characters with each bringing a unique point of view to the investigation, allowing them to approach clues and items differently.
  • Each character will know more or less of certain aspects of the story with some being more effective against supernatural manifestations. If a character gets killed by the Presence then it is permanent. However, the story will continue with another character, just without their skills and contributions to the world.
  • Locations inspired by the classics of the genre, including a mysterious antique shop, a forgotten abbey and an abandoned mental hospital. Explore these places to gain clues and items that will help you solve challenging puzzles.

“Every survival-horror fan knows that some of the biggest games in the genre’s history made their name on console, so bringing Song of Horror to PlayStation and Xbox was the logical next step after the game’s successful run on PC,” says studio co-founder Carlos Grupeli. “We can’t wait to see the reaction of console gamers once they get their hands on it .”

Song of Horror is available now for Playstation consoles, priced £34.99/ $39.99/ €39.99.  The game is due to arrive on Xbox consoles very soon.
