Sonic the Hedgehog is 30 years old and to celebrate this noteworthy birthday Minecraft have partnered up with SEGA to bring everyone’s favourite blue hedgehog to the Minecraft Marketplace. The Sonic the Hedgehog DLC will allow players to become Sonic and race through Minecraft versions of iconic Sonic locations such as Green Hills Zone and Chemical Plant Zone. Using his speed, players will race through these zones collecting some really blocky rings and getting a high score. Be sure to use your skills to avoid the plethora of obstacles that are in the way and make sure to defeat the bosses littering the place.
The birthday celebrations continue with a special server event. The Hive will soon host a two week server hub takeover filled with mini-games and surprises.
There’s also a Character Creator item, available for free in the Minecraft Marketplace.
