Grisly WWII game War Mongrels gets a trailer ahead of October release

August 17, 2021 by Andrew Newton

Destructive Creations has announced they will be releasing their gritty World War II real-time tactics game War Mongrels to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on 19th October.  This new title is a story-driven campaign inspired by the grim events on the Eastern Front.  See more of the Mongrel’s story in the new trailer below…

Set in the Eastern Front, War Mongrels follows the story of a squad of freedom fighters fighting for their homelands, values and humanity.  Consisting of German, Polish and Lithuanian soldiers, follow their fight through occupied cities, enemy barracks and body pits as they tackle missions against the Third Reich.

Each member of the team has their own set of skills and abilities and players will be able to use the game’s Planning Mode to strategise the best course of action and queue up multiple commands for an operation to be successful.

War Mongrels features striking animated cutscenes inspired by true stories of WWII soldiers and put together by a team of historians to create a story of the lesser-known hardships and struggles of life on the Eastern Front.

“World War II has been warped by a lot of other media, and that’s left historical blind spots, often intentionally,” said Marcin Stanek, Business Development Manager at Destructive Creations. “Stories outside of the American perspective rarely get enough visibility, and we aim to change that with an interactive and immersive experience.”

War Mongrels arrives on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on 19th October.
