Star Wars: See Mark Hamill in costume as Luke Skywalker on The Mandalorian set

August 2, 2021 by Amie Cranswick

Disney and Lucasfilm are set to take us behind the scenes of the season two finale of The Mandalorian this month with a special episode of Disney Gallery which will give fans an insight into the creation of the surprise cameo from Luke Skywalker which left a generation of middle-aged men reaching for the Kleenex (for their eyes, of course).

The (clunkily-titled) Disney Gallery: Star Wars: The Mandalorian – Making of the Season 2 Finale doesn’t land until the 25th of the month, but a couple of screenshots from a new Disney+ content trailer have hit social media – one of which shows Mark Hamill alongside Grogu and R2-D2, confirming that not only was Hamill on set for the sequence, but he was also back in the Return of the Jedi robes for at least part of the production.
