Ethan Hawke to voice Batman in Batwheels

September 18, 2021 by Gary Collinson

You may recall last year that Warner Bros. Animation, DC Entertainment and HBO Max announced they were venturing into the realm of pre-school entertainment with the action adventure comedy series Batwheels, and now comes word that Ethan Hawke has signed on to lend his voice to the Dark Knight.

In the series, the Batmobile, Batgirl Cycle, Redbird, Batwing, and the Bat Truck are granted sentient life by the Batcomputer and take up crime-fighting alongside the Bat-Family.

Alongside Hawke as Batman, the voice cast for Batwheels will feature AJ Hudson as Duke Thomas/Robin, Leah Lewis as Cassandra Cain/Batgirl, Jacob Bertrand as Bam, Jordan Reed as Bibi, Noah Bentley as Buff, Lilimar as Batwing, Kimberly Brooks as the Batcomputer and Mick Wingert as Moe.

The Batwheels are sentient superpowered crime-fighting vehicles defending Gotham City alongside Batman, Robin, Batgirl and a host of DC superheroes. Having just been created by the Batcomputer, our heroes are essentially kids with little to no life experience. Led by Bam (The Batmobile), the Batwheels – Bibi (The Batgirl Cycle), Red (The Redbird), Jett (The Batwing) and Buff (The Bat Truck) – must navigate the growing pains of being a newly formed super team as well as the growing pains that come with just being a kid. This relatable and aspirational series will follow the journey of this dynamic team as they thrill and entertain with their heroic adventures as well as demonstrate to kids the value of self-confidence, friendship and teamwork.

Batwheels is set to air on both HBO Max and Cartoon Network. As yet, there’s no word on a premiere date.
