Apple TV+ unveils first teaser for Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s murder-mystery comedy The Afterparty

October 8, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

It has been a while since we had anything filtered through the comedic lens of The Lego Movie duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller, but that is all about to change with The Afterparty, an eight-part murder mystery comedy series created and directed by Miller, with both acting as showrunners and executive producers.

Centering on a murder which takes place at a high-school reunion, The Afterparty employs the Rashomon effect to depict events from each suspects point-of-view. Starring Tiffany Haddish (Like A Boss), Sam Richardson (Veep), Zoë Chao (Love Life), Ben Schwartz (Space Force), Ike Barinholtz (Neighbours), Ilana Glazer (Broad City), Dave Franco (The Disaster Artist), Jamie Demetriou (Fleabag) and John Early (Search Party), you can check out the first teaser below…

The Afterparty is a murder-mystery comedy set at a high school reunion afterparty. Each of the eight episodes will feature a retelling of the same night told through a different character’s perspective, each with its own unique visual format and film genre to match the teller’s personality.

The Afterparty begins on Apple TV+ in January 2022.
