George Lucas joins Hasbro’s Star Wars: The Black Series action figure line

October 3, 2021 by Gary Collinson

Hasbro has announced that it is set to mark 50th anniversary of Lucasfilm by bringing founder and Star Wars creator George Lucas into its Star Wars: The Black Series line with a brand new George Lucas (in Stormtrooper Disguise) 6″ action figure.

“As a lifelong Star Wars fan, I have both the honor and privilege to bring characters from the franchise to life in product form every single day,” states Vickie Stratford, senior director of product design at Hasbro. “When the opportunity came to design the George Lucas figure, we were especially excited for this project. This figure is just one of the many ways we can honor his legacy for years to come and we hope fans cherish it as much as we did!”

The figure marks Lucas’ fourth outing in Hasbro’s action figure line (and first outside of the 3.75″ scale), following the Jorg Sacul Star Wars Celebration II exclusive in 2002, George Lucas (in Stormtrooper Disguise) Star Wars: The Saga Collection figure in 2006, and Baron Papanoida Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith figure that same year.

The Star Wars: The Black Series George Lucas (in Stormtrooper Disguise) is available to pre-order now ahead of a 2022 release.
