Indiana Jones 5 pushed back almost a year as set photos suggest possible time travel plot

October 18, 2021 by Liam Waddington

After being stuck in development hell for years, Indiana Jones fans are going to have to wait even longer for the follow-up to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull as Disney has announced that Indiana Jones 5 has been delayed almost a full year from July 29th 2022 to June 30th 2023.

Indiana Jones 5 sees Harrison Ford returning as Indy for the fifth and final time alongside Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Thomas Kretschmann (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal), Antonio Banderas (Pain and Glory) and Toby Jones (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) – whose roles are also being kept secret.

While specific plot details are being kept under wraps, some set photos surfaced last week featuring extras dressed as Roman soldiers, suggesting perhaps a possible time travel element to the movie? See for yourself here…

Indiana Jones 5 sees director James Mangold helming Harrison Ford’s fifth and final outing as the archaeologist and adventurer Indiana Jones with Steven Spielberg, Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall serving as producers, while John Williams will once again compose the score.
