Channing Tatum and Tom Hardy recruited for Afghanistan evacuation movie

November 10, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

It doesn’t take Hollywood long to formulate a pitch, which is certainly the case when it comes to the news that Universal have bought an idea based on the recent Afghanistan evacuations, and have earmarked Channing Tatum and Tom Hardy to star.

Deadline reports that the untitled project is based on true stories, with this one focusing on three former special forces team members who return to the fray alongside their Afghan counterparts, to rescue families and allies left behind amid the rapid fall of Afghanistan last August.

The pitch was put together by George Nofli, who has The Bourne Ultimatum, The Adjustment Bureau, and The Banker as his writing credits, and will also be produced by the headline duo of Hardy and Tatum.

Hardy can currently be seen in the inexplicably successful Venom: Let There Be Carnage, while next up for Tatum is his directorial debut feature Dog, as well as action comedy Lost City alongside Sandra Bullock.
