Jumanji 4 producer teases “big vision” for upcoming sequel

January 2, 2022 by EJ Moreno

Everyone was surprised when 2017’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle became a smash hit, grossing nearly a billion worldwide. The sequel, Jumanji: The Next Level, was also a success, and fans have clamored for another entry.

One of the producers behind the Dwayne Johnson-led series opens up about when we’ll see more of Jumanji. Early in 2021, Hiram Garcia has already confirmed that Jumanji 4 is in early development, but now he’s offered a bit more on when we could see another entry in this surprise hit for Sony Pictures.

According to a recent Collider interview, the president of production at Seven Bucks Productions promised the film will happen and mentioned some big plans.

“It’s going to happen. It’s going to happen, for sure. We have a really big vision for that third Jumanji movie. We just were discussing the pitch the other day. We’re bringing it into Sony shortly. But that movie’s going to happen. It’s going to happen after Red One, but that timing actually works out well with all of the actors scheduled anyway. As you can imagine, Kevin is super busy doing a million things, just like DJ is,” says Garcia.

“All of the actors are super busy,” he continues. “So the timing is going to work out great, but we have a really great pitch for the movie we’re about to bring into the studio, probably going to get a script written soon. Sometime after Red One, Jumanji’s going to be on deck once it’s ready to go, and we have a really big vision for that movie.”

One of the next films from Seven Bucks Production will be Red One, which sees director Jake Kasdan re-teaming with Dwayne Johnson. Little is known about the film, but in the Collider interview, Garcia went on to say it was a “very big Christmas movie.”

After that, Kasdan will begin to prep for Jumanji 4, with Johnson starring as one of his countless projects each year.
