The Sopranos’ Michael Imperioli returns to HBO for The White Lotus season 2

January 7, 2022 by Ricky Church

Deadline reports that The Sopranos alum Michael Imperioli is set to lead the second season of The White Lotus, marking a return to HBO for the actor, who is the first to join the new cast of the anthology series.

The White Lotus is a dark comedy that followed a group of vacationers at Hawaiian resort that saw all sorts of drama happen with both the guests and staff over the course of their stay. The second season will “leave Hawaii behind for a new location and is expected to follow a different group of vacationers at another White Lotus property.”

Imperioli will play Dominic Di Grasso, “a man traveling with his elderly father and recent college-graduate son” in a series regular role. As of now, no one from the original season will return though Deadline notes Jennifer Coolidge may reprise her role as the eccentric Tanya McQuoid in the upcoming season.

The social satire series “follows the vacations of various hotel guests over the span of a week as they relax and rejuvenate in paradise. But with each passing day, a darker complexity emerges in these picture-perfect travelers, the hotel’s cheerful employees and the idyllic locale itself.

The first season of The White Lotus featured a cast that included Murray Barlett, Connie Britton, Jennifer Coolidge, Alexandra Daddario, Fred Hechinger, Jake Lacy, Brittany O’Grady, Natasha Rothwell, Sydney Sweeney, and Steve Zahn.
