Horror anthology Dread X Collection 5 bringing scares to Steam in May

April 15, 2022 by Andrew Newton

Indie publisher DreadXP has announced they will be releasing their latest installment in the popular anthology horror series, Dread X Collection 5, on 3rd May on PC via Steam.  This latest collection features 12 twisted short-form nightmares from the creators of such indie hits as 0°N 0°W, Lakeview Cabin, Sylvio, and The Mortuary Assistant.

With Dread X Collection 5 players are taken to a variety of spooky locations such as haunted nightclubs, dark carnivals, haunted puppet shows, even a karaoke bar toilet of all places.  Each of these horrifying locations each have their own type of horror themes seen often in cinema, including hordes of undead, crazed killers etc.  There’s even more strange experiences for gamers such as taking part in a life or death game of ‘find the flowers’ or carrying an egg on a spoon.

Dread X Collection 5 features:

  • 12 new nightmarish tales themed around well-known horror tropes.
  • An alien-themed party venue to explore.
  • A whole new story set in the overarching Dread X universe.
  • Lots of terror-inducing surprises.

To date, the Dread X Collection series has had 4 titles featuring a total of 41 horror short games from a number of indie developers.  Gaining inspiration from Game Jam, each collection in the series has its own thematic concept which the developers will work towards but have full creative freedom.

Look out for Dread X Collection 5 releasing on Steam on 3rd May.
