Jonathan Rhys Meyers’ AI companion is Wifelike in trailer for sci-fi thriller

Paramount has released a trailer, poster and images for the upcoming sci-fi thriller Wifelike. Written and directed by James Bird, the film stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers as a grieving detective who finds himself targeted by underground resistance after sabotaging his artificial companion (Elena Kampouris) to behave like his late wife. A grieving detective in the near-future (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) hunts down criminals who trade artificial humans on the black market. In the fight to end AI exploitation, an underground resistance attempts to infiltrate him by sabotaging the programming of the artificial human assigned as his companion (Elena Kampouris) to behave like his late wife. She begins to question her reality as memories of a past life begin to surface in a world where nothing is as it seems.

Wifelike features a cast that includes Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Elena Kampouris, Doron Bell, Agam Darshi, Sara Sampaio, Alix Villaret, Fletcher Donovan, C. J. Perry, and Stephen Lobo.

Wifelike arrives in cinemas and on digital platforms on August 12th.
