Maya Hawke and Camila Mendes Do Revenge in teaser for Netflix’s Hitchcockian dark comedy

August 5, 2022 by Ricky Church

Netflix has released a teaser trailer for its dark comedy Do Revenge starring Maya Hawke (Stranger Things) and Camila Mendes (Riverdale) from director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Someone Great).

Do Revenge is a twist on Alfred Hitchcock’s classic Strangers on a Train where two people who meet each other by chance decide to plot murder against the other’s enemies. The synopsis describes the film as “a subverted Hitchcock-ian dark comedy featuring the scariest protagonists of all: teenage girls. The film centers around Drew (Alpha, it girl) and Eleanor (beta, alt girl) who, after a clandestine meet-cute, team up to go after each other’s bullies.”

Starring alongside Hawke and Mendes is Austin Abrams (Euphoria), Alisha Boe (13 Reasons Why), Rish Shah (Ms. Marvel), Talia Ryder (West Side Story), Ava Capri (Love, Victor), Jonathan Daviss (Outer Banks), Maia Reficco (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin), Paris Berelc (Tall Girl) and Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones).

Director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson wrote the script with Celeste Ballard (Space Jam: A New Legacy). Robinson’s most recent writing credit is co-writing the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s latest entry Thor: Love and Thunder with its director Taika Waititi.

Do Revenge will be released on Netflix on September 16th.
