Zac Efron embarks on The Greatest Beer Run Ever in trailer for Apple TV+ film

August 18, 2022 by Amie Cranswick

Apple TV+ has released a poster and trailer for director Peter Farrelly’s action comedy The Greatest Beer Run Ever.

Based on the incredible true story and the book of the same name by Joanna Molloy and John “Chickie” Donohue, the film stars Zac Efron as Donohue, a man who vowed to show support for his friends serving in Vietnam by travelling to the frontline and serving them with a can of American beer.

To show support for his neighborhood friends serving in Vietnam, Chickie Donohue (Zac Efron) decides to do something totally outrageous: travel to the frontline by himself to bring the soldiers a little piece of home — their favorite can of American beer.

However, what started as a well-meaning journey quickly turns into the adventure of a lifetime as Chickie confronts the reality of this controversial war and his reunions with his childhood buddies thrust him into the complexities and responsibilities of adulthood.

Joining Efron in the cast are Russell Crowe, Jake Picking, Will Ropp, Archie Renaux, Kyle Allen, Ruby Ashbourne Serkis and Bill Murray.

The Greatest Beer Run Ever premieres on Apple TV+ on September 30th.
