John Krasinski is returning as Jack Ryan this December

September 29, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

If you’ve wondered where John Krasinski’s Jack Ryan has been hiding for the last few years, then the answer is either that he has been stuck behind those giant letters that make up his name on the teaser poster for the third season of his Amazon Prime show, or perhaps more excitingly it will be revealed in the eight episodes that will debut on Prime Video this December 21st.

Joining Krasinski will be returning cast members Wendell Pierce as James Greer and Michael Kelly as Mike November, alongside new series regulars Nina Hoss as Alena Kovac and Betty Gabriel as Elizabeth Wright.

Author Tom Clancy introduced the character of Jack Ryan in his first book The Hunt for Red October, which was later turned into a film with Alec Baldwin as Ryan alongside the legendary Sean Connery as the Russian submarine commander. Since then, the character has appeared in four other feature films with Harrison Ford (Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger), Ben Affleck (The Sum of All Fears) and Chris Pine (Shadow Recruit) taking on the role.

Season Three of the action-thriller series finds Jack Ryan on the run and in a race against time. Jack is wrongly implicated in a larger conspiracy and suddenly finds himself a fugitive out in the cold. Now, wanted by both the CIA and an international rogue faction that he has uncovered, Jack is forced underground, crisscrossing Europe, trying to stay alive, while preventing a massive global conflict.

Season 3 of Jack Ryan lands on Prime Video this December 21st.
