Lily James and Shazad Latif rom-com What’s Love Got to Do With It gets a trailer and images

September 8, 2022 by Amie Cranswick

StudioCanal has released a trailer for director Shekhar Kapur’s romantic comedy What’s Love Got to Do With It? which stars Lily James as an unlucky in love dating app addict and documentary maker who begins to question her approach to finding love when she films her childhood friend’s (Shazad Latif) journey from London to Lahore to marry the woman chosen by his parents; watch it below…

How do you find lasting love in today’s world? For documentary-maker and dating app addict Zoe (Lily James), swiping right has only delivered an endless stream of Mr Wrongs, to her eccentric mother Cath’s (Emma Thompson) dismay. For Zoe’s childhood friend and neighbour Kaz (Shazad Latif), the answer is to follow his parents’ example and opt for an arranged (or “assisted”) marriage to a bright and beautiful bride from Pakistan. As Zoe films his hopeful journey from London to Lahore to marry a stranger, chosen by his parents, she begins to wonder if she might have something to learn from a profoundly different approach to finding love.

Along with Lily James and Shazad Latif, What’s Love Got to Do With It features a cast that includes Shabana Azmi, Sajal Aly, Asim Chaudhry, Jeff Mirza, and Emma Thompson.

What’s Love Got to Do With It? arrives in cinemas on January 27th 2023.
