September 9, 2022 by Ricky Church

Paramount used Star Trek Day to announce Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will beam Carol Kane (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) aboard the Enterprise for the second season.

Kane will play Chief Engineer Pelia, who joins the Enterprise to replace the deceased Hemmer. She’ll star alongside not only series regulars Anson Mount, Ethan Peck, Rebecca Romijn and others, bur Paul Wesley as James T. Kirk, who appeared in the season finale’s alternate future and will be featured more in the second season.

Season two is currently in production and Paramount also shared a clip from the upcoming season, teasing an away mission Melissa Navia’s Lt. Erica Ortegas is preparing to depart on. Watch the clip below…

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds features Anson Mount as Captain Pike alongside Ethan Peck and Rebecca Romijn who also reprise their Discovery roles as Spock and Number One, a.k.a. Una Chin-Riley, respectively. Filling out the crew of the USS Enterprise are Jess Bush (Skinford) as Nurse Christine Chapel, Celia Rose Gooding (Jagged Little Pill) as Nyota Uhura, Babs Olusanmokun (Dune) as Dr. M’Benga, Christina Chong (Black Mirror) as La’an Noonien-Singh, Melissa Navia (Billions) as Erica Ortegas and Bruce Horak (Warehouse 13) as Hemmer.
