Sydney Sweeney reteams with The Voyeurs director for psychological horror Immaculate

October 29, 2022 by Gary Collinson

Sydney Sweeney is certainly in demand at the moment thanks to her impressive pair of Emmy-nominated roles in HBO’s Euphoria and The White Lotus, and now the rising star has added another project to her ever-expanding slate.

As reported by Deadline, Sweeney is set to reteam with Michael Mohan, director of Amazon’s erotic thriller The Voyeurs, for a psychological horror film entitled Immaculate.

Scripted by Andrew Lobel, the film will see Sweeney playing Cecilia, “a woman of devout faith who is offered a fulfilling new role at an illustrious Italian convent. Her warm welcome to the picture-perfect Italian countryside is soon interrupted as it becomes clearer to Cecilia that her new home harbors some dark and horrifying secrets.”

In addition to starring Sweeney will also produce Immaculate through her production company Fifty-Fifty Films, along with Teddy Schwarzman and Michael Heimler of Black Bear Pictures. Will Greenfield (Euphoria) executive produces.

Immaculate is the third feature film that Sweeney has boarded this month after Sony Pictures’ Barbarella remake and Universal’s The Caretaker. She’s also set to feature in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe movie Madame Web, along with the Tony Tost-directed National Anthem and an adaptation of the Madison Lawson novel The Registration.

The Voyeurs is available to stream now on Amazon, and you can read our review of the film here.
