Paramount+ renews Sylvester Stallone mob drama Tulsa King for second season

December 1, 2022 by Gary Collinson

Paramount+ has wasted little time in renewing the Sylvester Stallone-led crime drama Tulsa King, with the streamer giving the green light to a second season after just three episodes.

Executive produced by Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone) and showrunner Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire), Tulsa King sees Stallone as Dwight “The General” Manfredi, a capo in the New York mafia who finds himself relocated to Tulsa to set up shop on behalf of the mob.

“With the combination of the incomparable Sylvester Stallone and Taylor Sheridan’s darkly comedic twist on the beloved mobster genre, we have found our latest hit in Tulsa King,” said Tanya Giles, Chief Programming Officer at Paramount+. “The series’ premiere on Paramount+ helped drive a record sign-up day fueled by our unique ability as Paramount Global to tap into Paramount Network’s incredible Yellowstone audience.”

“We could not be more excited about the success of Tulsa King,” added David Glasser, CEO of 101 Studios. It’s a fun, fresh show that audiences are truly embracing in no small part because of its star, Sylvester Stallone. We are thankful to Chris McCarthy and MTV Entertainment Studios for their continued support, and we are looking forward to getting back on set for Season 2.”

TULSA KING follows New York mafia capo Dwight “The General” Manfredi (Sylvester Stallone), just after he is released from prison after 25 years and unceremoniously exiled by his boss to set up shop in Tulsa, Okla. Realizing that his mob family may not have his best interests in mind, Dwight slowly builds a “crew” from a group of unlikely characters, to help him establish a new criminal empire in a place that to him might as well be another planet.

Tulsa King sees Sylvester Stallone starring alongside Andrea Savage, Martin Starr, Max Casella, Domenick Lombardozzi, Vincent Piazza, Jay Will, A.C. Peterson, Garrett Hedlund, Martin Starr, Dana Delany and Annabella Sciorra.

Tulsa King airs on Sundays on Paramount+.
