All Quiet on the Western Front leads winners of the 2023 EE BAFTA Film Awards

Having went into the night leading the field with fourteen nominations in total, Netflix’s All Quiet on the Western Front was the big winner at the 2023 EE BAFTA Film Awards with the acclaimed German-language adaptation of Erich Maria Remarque’s World War I novel picking up seven honours in Best Film, Director (Edward Berger), Film Not in the English Language, Adapted Screenplay, Cinematography, Original Score and Sound.

It was also a good evening for The Banshees of Inisherin and Elvis, both of which scooped four BAFTAs apiece – Outstanding British Film, Original Screenplay, Supporting Actor (Barry Keoghan) and Supporting Actress (Kerry Condon) for Banshees, and Leading Actor (Austin Butler), Casting, Costume Design and Make Up & Hair for Elvis. 

Other winners included Cate Blanchett (Leading Actress for Tar), Charlotte Wells (Outstanding British Debut for Aftersun) and Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio (Animated Film), while awards season favourite Everything Everywhere All At Once had to make do with just one award for Best Editing.
