Lady Gaga goes feral for Joaquin Phoenix in Joker: Folie À Deux first look

February 15, 2023 by EJ Moreno

Lady Gaga’s coming out party as Harley Quinn is finally here in our first look at Joker: Folie À Deux.

The megastar-turned-Academy Award-nominated actress will co-star alongside Joaquin Phoenix in the upcoming DC sequel to 2019’s Joker, and the new image reveal promises a bad romance.

In the preview image shared by Gaga, we see a hunger in Harley Quinn’s eyes as she faces down with Phoenix’s Joker. As just a taste of the chemistry between the two actors, it seems like we are in for a wild ride next fall. The film is currently in production.

Lady Gaga previously starred in A Star Is Born for Warner Bros., the 2018 film that dominated the award season, with Gaga receiving a Best Actress nomination and winning that night for Best Song. She later starred in Ridley Scott’s House of Gucci.

Joaquin Phoenix reprises his Oscar-winning role as Arthur Fleck/Joker, along with Zazie Beetz’s Sophie, while other new additions to the cast for the sequel include Lady Gaga (A Star Is Born) as Harley Quinn and Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin), Harry Lawtey (Industry), Catherine Keener (The Adam Project), and Jacob Lofland (Mud) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.

Joker: Folie À Deux is currently in production and is slated to release on October 4th, 2024.
