ThunderCats returning for new comic series from Dynamite

October 21, 2023 by Gary Collinson

Get ready to shout “Thunder, Thunder, Thunder, ThunderCats, Hoooo!” all over again as Dynamite Entertainment has announced that the beloved 80s franchise ThunderCats is set to make its return this coming February with a brand new comic book series from writer Declan Shalvey and artist Drew Moss.

The upcoming comic is part of a new deal announced at last weekend’s New York Comic Con between Dynamite and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, with ThunderCats set to kick off a new line of comics and graphic novels which will also include the likes of The Flintstones, Space Ghost, Johnny Quest and The Powerpuff Girls.

“Warner Bros. has been at the heart of entertainment in America and across the world for an incredible hundred years, and home to so many beloved stories and franchises,” said Dynamite’s Nick Barrucci. “We’re incredibly excited to bring many of them with the biggest and most passionate fanbases back to comics or for the first time, as we work with WBD and wonderful creators to bring all-new stories to the fans!”

You can check out the covers to Dynamite’s ThunderCats #1 below, along with character designs for our heroes along with their arch-nemesis, the evil Mumm-Ra…

ThunderCats #1 will go on sale in February 2024.
