The Ghost With The Most is back in first images from Beetlejuice Beetlejuice

March 20, 2024 by EJ Moreno

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice; don’t say it again!

As we know, Tim Burton is back for the long-awaited Beetlejuice 2, titled Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and EW has our first-look images.

Michael Keaton returns after 36 years away from the role and looks as ghostly as ever. Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara are back to reprise their roles as Lydia and Delia Deetz, respectively, but they’re bringing a newcomer to the franchise. Scream VI and Wednesday star Jenna Ortega will play Lydia’s daughter Astrid.

The filmmaker reveals that the Beetlejuice sequel picks up after a death in the family, “That’s all I will say,” Burton tells EW. “There’s something that happens that sets things in motion.” The outlet teases that it could be the death of Lydia’s father, Charles Deetz (Jeffrey Jones), but the director plays coy: “We’ll see.”

As for Burton’s feelings on seeing Keaton back in the titular role, he calls it a “weird out-of-body experience.” He adds, “He just got back into it. It was kind of scary for somebody who was maybe not that overly interested in doing it. It was such a beautiful thing for me to see all the cast, but he, sort of like demon possession, just went right back into it.” Check out the images below…
